Furthermore, qualified students may have the chance to participate in summer internships, which offer invaluable hands-on experience and enhance their candidacy for the apprenticeship.

Get Hands-On Electrician Training with Professionals

Age

Applicants must be at least 18 years old to start working, but those under 18 can apply for preparatory guidance.

Education

Open to high school, trade school, or college students. A High School Diploma is required to be considered.

Skills

Proficiency in English and effective communication skills are essential. Applicants should also be mechanically adept, have a basic knowledge of tools, be safety-conscious, and be physically fit.

Legal

A valid GA driver’s license is required. Applicants must maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher and have an excellent attendance record.

Recommendations

Three teacher references are necessary and will be a significant factor in selection.

Commitment

A 5-year contract with Capital City Electric is required for selected applicants.

Screening

An interview, drug test, driving record, and background check will be conducted. Applicants with a DUI or criminal record will not be considered.

Optional

Participation in summer work with Capital City from ages 16 until graduation is available and encouraged.

I wanted to share an experience. I actually work for CCES. This past weekend we had one of those GA nightly storms, the following morning a large limb decided to break off and hit the electrical line to my house and sent surges of power prior to cutting off the circuit breaker. Do not take those surge protectors for granted they saved my TV but not my HVAC unit.
